Initially released in March 1990, Violator, Depeche Mode's seventh album showcased the band's maturity and ability to create dark, brooding atmospheres while achieving mainstream success. "Enjoy the Silence" became a breakout hit, earning the band their first top-10 single in the U.S. and winning a BRIT Award for Best Single.
