One of heavy music’s great underground cult classics, G.I.S.M.’s 1983 debut, Detestation, was way ahead of its time, the late, great Randy Uchida leading the way with his flashy, melodic guitar work. Generally considered a hardcore band, G.I.S.M. were much more than that as they recklessly mashed together elements of punk, heavy metal, glam, thrash, industrial and experimental music.
