After taking metal to a new level with their 1992 masterpiece, Vulgar Display of Power, Pantera had one goal in mind for its follow-up: go even heavier. Somehow, they pulled it off. Far Beyond Driven is an even more vulgar display of might, with muscular cuts like "5 Minutes Alone," "I'm Broken" and "Becoming" impossibly raising the bar. Maybe even more unlikely, Far Beyond Driven debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard chart and remains arguably the heaviest album to do so.
